What’s a Mentor-in-the-Room?
✅ A listening ear to encourage, problem-solve, or brainstorm with students on their Genius Projects.
What if I only have an hour?
✅ Perfect! You can volunteer for as little as 30 minutes—or stay the whole day. Any time you can give helps strengthen the Community-Parent-Classroom connection.
What does the day look like?
✅ Volunteers briefly introduce themselves and share their areas of knowledge (tech, science, writing, business, family, etc.).
✅ You’ll sit on a panel in the back of the room as students approach for advice, guidance, or encouragement.
✅ It’s mostly a listening role—no special expertise required. Any life experience is valuable! Students thrive when they articulate their ideas aloud to caring adults.
We are committed to giving students more opportunities to connect with adults and professionals. Thank you for helping us strengthen this vital bridge between community and school.
With gratitude,
The Genius Project Team
